Deer Gaming

Been a while, eh? Even if this is slightly old progress by now, it's something I feel confident isn't too spoilery.

While I initially planned to have Drinn recaptured and eventually unlocked as the final playable character in World 4, she now joins your party immediately after her initial rescue midway through World 1. While I could fluff myself up with some penitent speech about how horribly retrograde it was of me to consider damseling the same girl character twice in one game, the simple truth is that I wanted the player to have their full roster assembled by more or less the halfway point.

Gameplay-wise, Drinn is some combination of speed character and general zany gimmick repository. Pretty much everything she does has some kind of goofy or cartoonish flare, and above necessarily fitting into an archetypal playstyle mold, she's basically designed to just be 'the fun/ny one.'

Some of the animations seem to be a bit..quick. I'm talking specifically the Falling animation. I'm not saying there's anything particularly wrong with that but I would personally add either a few more frames to the animation or keep it still like I would assume the other characters have. That aside I probably should get back to this. I kind of dropped it because I wasn't sure if the Catbird sequence was nerfed.

The catbird sequence isn't nerfed and rebalanced, yet; but what it should be is fixed, unless...that was another fix I made post latest demo. The reason so many enemies were piling up was due to a scrolling bug; at certain combat sections, the screen was supposed to lock, but due to changes to the camera system that broke, meaning the screen kept moving onto new groups of enemies that shouldn't have been loaded until the current group was finished. It might still be a bit overtuned, but it should at least be manageable now.

On the topic of unpublished changes, I've essentially moved onto a stage where only private testers will have access to new demo builds. So Drinn, and any other new content shown off from this point onwards, won't be playable for quite a while. Too much demo, containing too much near-complete content, can really kill the full release for a simple game like this.

I was simply giving a bit of feedback based on the Video in that regard, also it is good that it at least is fixed in some form. ^.^

Also You  could just have a few of the changes show up in..I wanna say at least a world 1 Public Demo. That's..just my thought process on it though.
